“If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything”. Most have heard that saying before and it’s completely accurate. It’s good to have something to believe and fight for because it shows you’re passionate and won’t back down for what you know is best for you. Practice standing for things because when it comes to you in the end, if you don’t stand for yourself, no one will. I know many aren’t confrontational and that’s ok! I’m not just talking about addressing issues with others but to really be confrontational and eager with things that matter to you whether it’s family, work, or even something you’re passionate about puts you in charge of how things are working out. If there are some problems, then address them. Fight for what’s yours and what’s important to you. You have to be in the mix to have control and if you’re not confrontational with yourself and what you have going on, then there will be lack of improvements, disappointment, and wasted time that you won’t get back. Get involved in yourself and what matters!

forgive

To forgive may be difficult but it’s healthy. Forgiveness isn’t what your pride wants but it’s definitely what your heart needs. Not being able to forgive may seem like you’re doing yourself a favor or getting back at the other person but instead, it rips the power from you. Not being able to forgive keeps the power in the other person’s hands because whatever that person did to upset you, it was their intention on you caring so much about it. At that point, they won and are very happy that their plan worked. Now, if you forgive, you’re showing that whatever happened isn’t worth the time and day to be bothered with it. You’re the bigger person and are showing others that no matter what happens, you can’t be negatively influenced by their actions. This goes for any situation.  I’m not saying forgive and forget but to forgive for the sake of your well-being.  Many can apologize for their wrong doings, but only few have the real strength to forgive.  Be smart and strong through these times. You can’t move forward if you’re still dwelling in the past by dealing with people who weren’t meant for your future.

faith

When we make plans, we tend to always have a “when” and “how” this is going to happen. We have it down to a science of how these plans, dreams, and things will play out. When it doesn’t, we lose faith, right? We lose faith based on what we don’t see in our own timing. Of course, we want to have faith and trust that God will provide but, we often forget to give these plans to Him to make it happen for the time perfect for us. Be careful when doing this. It creates doubt and confusion. With doubt and confusion, you can delay your blessings. We can’t take control of everything so take it easy y’all. Don’t get caught up in your “when” and “how” and lose faith because it doesn’t match up with His “when” He wants to do it for you!

self awareness

Being self-aware and empathetic are great qualities to have. Being self-aware is taking a step back and evaluating yourself completely before acting. Before a decision is made or anything is said, taking this time to re-evaluate gives you the opportunity to see what your strengths and weaknesses are. You will save some time and energy when you can decide what you need to put most of your energy in and what necessarily works for you. Being empathetic is putting yourself in others shoes to see where they’re coming from. People come from different backgrounds and walks of life that to be a good leader or friend, there has to be some understanding on your end. Especially with dealing with people, these two qualities are very essential to being a leader, team player and even a friend. This will help tremendously with decision making, working with others and what you should get involved in or stay out of based on what your strengths and weaknesses are. Try it!
