Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I know I sure did! The year 2018 is just a few days away and we know you may be making lists or goals that you want to fulfill for the upcoming new year. They may consist of being healthy, being open-minded by trying new things, or even dropping bad habits.

Make sure for the new year that you drop those bad habits or people that don’t benefit you and your growth spiritually, physically, and mentally. Don’t bring the negativity into your new year. You can still be the old you with some new habits and cleaning in your life.

Bad habits and people that aren’t here for your best interest at heart can prevent you from reaching your best potential. You will never know what you can accomplish with cutting out the dead weight. Find what works best for you, eliminate waste and go for it. I don’t have to tell you how to find these people and habits. You already know what it is because, whatever you were thinking about while reading this, lets you know what needs to go.

Be safe this holiday season and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

To move up at work or gain the respect from coworkers and your managers is to take initiative.  Before being asked to complete a task, go ahead and do it if it needs to be done.  This shows that you are a leader and you care about improving the work place.  Taking initiative makes your coworkers view you as someone who can lead and handle certain tasks.  In this case, when choosing someone to be a part of projects or choosing to be promoted, you will be well deserving of it.

Take the little steps to maintain your main goal.  Many of us might not want to continue taking on other tasks than the ones required of us because there isn’t a reward or recognition for it.  Short term, you may not receive recognition or a pat on the back at the time but in the long run, it will definitely pay off.  Never get tired of doing the right thing because there is always someone watching you even when you do not realize it.  Take action!

GIVING SEASON

Since this is the giving season, I want to bring up a different kind of giving that I see very often…

Do you tend to find yourself always giving so much to others but when it comes to you, it seems like you’re not getting anything in return?  Don’t give to expect anything back.  If that is something you want to do, and enjoy doing it, your blessing will find its way back to you every time.

Then, there is giving to the wrong people.  Don’t give so much of your time and energy into people that aren’t good for you.  Deep down, you know their intentions aren’t well.  Don’t get your hopes up thinking that these people will come around and do the same for you.  God shows you who people really are.  It’s your job to pay attention to them and not be surprised when they don’t follow through.  Now, you gave and ran out so much that you can’t take care of yourself.

Stop letting people that don’t deserve your love and consistency use it all up.  Save it for yourself and for the ones that love you for you.

Steadfast

A little progress each day adds up to bigger and better results.  You might set a goal or have a dream to accomplish one day but the journey seems so long and maybe just unrealistic.  Don’t look at it as if it can never get done because you have to start somewhere.  If you work on it a little every day and just pace yourself, the efforts you put towards it will eventually add up and you’ll be closer to your goal than you were before.

We have a tendency to want things right away and if we see that there is a lot of work to do to get it done, we will get discouraged and not attempt that goal.  If everyone looked at every goal and dream like this and failed to attempt it, we wouldn’t have educators, lawyers, doctors, and business men and women, etc.  You have to pace yourself in every journey you have.  It will pay off in the end as long as you're steadfast.  Don’t cut yourself short because you’re intimidated by the road ahead.  Tap into your full potential by going after those dreams.
