  • So fall is literally in 3 days! I don’t think anyone could be as excited as I am when it comes to this season.  My hair is better, my skin is glowing, bugs disappear and fall clothes and tasty warm drinks make my heart sing.

During the fall and winter, we tend to put on a lot of layers which means you need some pieces to layer with.  Now, I know most people have a closet full of clothes but still have absolutely nothing to wear right? Here are some tips that I picked up that will get you ready for these cold seasons (if it ever gets cold) that will make you feel like you have something to wear without spending a lot of money.

  1. What are you going to the mall for?
Have an idea of what you’re looking for before you decide to get in the car to head to the store.  Take a look at your wardrobe and see what you NEED.  Once you get there, you will find a lot of stuff that you want but, what you want could be similar to 5 other things you already have.  That’s how you get so many clothes but nothing to wear because it all looks the same.  If you need some sweaters, but have 2 dark colors, look for other colors that look great on your skin tone.  If you keep this up with other pieces, you create some options to choose from.

  1. Build it up
To piggy back off #1, when you go to the store for things you NEED, you may find something that you can’t or won’t necessarily wear very soon but you’ll have it when you’re ready.  Sales are the best for this because it’s usually for the clothes that are out of season.  Rack up on some pieces so you can have them next year and keep a few dollars in your pocket too.

  1. Can you wear it multiple times?
When I shop, I really like to see if I can wear something multiple times.  I look for the quality and also if I can wear it with different things so it won’t look like I wear the same thing continuously.  Look for basic items and colors that can easily pair and layer with other clothes.  Even with shoes, we want something very different but if you’re on a budget, it wouldn’t be smart to spend money on shoes or anything that you can wear a few times instead of with multiple things.

The fall season is around the corner, and you want to have some choices to choose from when layering your outfits.  These tips work for every other season as well but now that we are leaving summer, it’s a good chance to hit up those sales and rack up on spring/summer clothes for next year while finding what you need for the rest of this year.  Trust me, you’ll end up with more clothes than you already had!

Hey! If there is anything you want me to touch on or talk about in the future. Send me an email and let me know! I’ll see what I can whip up for ya!
